Legal Window Tint Percentages. Virginia State Law
Virginia State Law requires that ALL vehicles registered within the state of Virginia may not, at any time, be tinted with film that is less than 50% transparency on the front two roll-up windows, or less than 35% on any rear windows for cars. Multi-use passenger vehicles such as vans, SUVs, trucks, ect., may have any percentage on the rear windows. Additionally, any vehicles found with improper tint are subject to ticketing, and fines in excess of $110.
